Description

One of the protagonists of the history of flight was Umberto Nobile (Lauro, Avellino 1885 – Rome 1978). General of the Regia Aeronautica, he designed airships all over the world, but his notoriety owes it to the two flights of the North Pole: the one commissioned by Norway in 1926 with the airship "Norge", designed and commanded by him, and the entirely Italian one in 1928 on board the "Italia" airship, which however ended dramatically. Due to the prohibitive weather conditions, "Italia" fell on the pack ice and the survivors were brought to safety after forty-eight days spent in the legendary "Red Tent". The story and the heated controversies that followed tarnished Nobile's fame who, accused by the fascist regime, chose voluntary exile by going to the Soviet Union where he worked for five years on the construction of airships. At the end of 1936 he decided to return to Italy, but due to objective political and personal difficulties he decided to leave again by accepting a job offer in the United States. After the fall of fascism, in July 1943, Nobile repatriated definitively and from 1946 to 1948 he was elected independent member of the Constituent Assembly. His figure and his exploits have been re-evaluated over the years and Nobile has been recognized for what he really was: a brilliant designer, a skilled aviator, a tireless explorer. Talent, inventiveness, passion have been an irresistible attraction for Giuliano Mazzuoli. This is how Nobile Italia was born, a synthesis of contemporary creativity and the very high quality of materials to evoke an Italian genius of which we must be proud. The exclusive shape, inspired by the “Italia” airship, enhances the pleasure and functionality of this writing instrument. Nobile Italia was born from Italian artisan ingenuity and is the result of a unique product where the most modern design is inspired by a glorious past. The attention to detail and the choice of materials make Nobile Italia a collector's pen, but due to the pleasantness of its shape to the touch, its handle and the decisive line, it would be unforgivable not to make it "everyday use". Feeling also proudly Italian.
